Recognizing the Best Menu Choices
Using Local NC Product
We have segmented the state into 2 regions to highlight the menu diversity throughout our state. These 2 state-wide regions will have finalists selected within each region from both the Casual dining category and the Fine dining category. All restaurants that enter will choose a region based upon their location.


The focus will be more on the overall creativity of the entries and the ingenuity of local ingredients used in their preparation and presentation. Chefs can focus on what they do best…..create dishes that feature local NC products!
We have established the following judging criteria for the Best Dish NC preliminary round:
- Overall use of NC products and ingredients within the entries submitted
- Depth of the farm to table connection of each entry
- Creativity of entry including ingenuity of local ingredients and its preparation
- Originality and uniqueness of entries
- Overall appeal and value of entries
2011 Best Dish winners will be recognized at the Taste of NC event February 27th! |
